Winning The Prize

Posted by Unknown Saturday, January 12, 2013

There are eight teams remaining in the National Football League's playoffs. In Baltimore all eyes will be on the Ravens at 4:30 pm as they play the Denver Broncos. All the teams have one goal in mind to win the prize of the Superbowl and for its players to get a ring. Many teams began this race at the start of the season, but only one team will win the prize.

Paul used a similar analogy in 1 Corinthians 9: 24-25. It says, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

Living a Christian life is about winning the "prize" of eternal life with God through Jesus Christ. While there is no exclusivity to obtaining the "prize." There is a responsibility one must adhere to. It is to live your life in such in such a way that pleases God. Develop the discipline of a faithful prayer life, the enthusiasm for service to others, the commitment to tithe and give offerings to God, and the humility of one who understands that save the grace and mercy of God go I.

You can win the "prize" by living a discipline life that pleases and honors God.
