The Lamb as Light

"The Lamb is its lamp." Revelation 21:23

The lamb represents God. The lamp represents light, which is joy. Okay, let's break it down. The joy of the saints in heaven is comprised of this: Jesus chose us, loved us, bought us, cleansed us, robed us, kept us, saved us, glorified us: we are here entirely through the Lord Jesus' sacrifice for us.

Heaven is the place of eternal relationship with God, in God and of God.

Light is the cause of beauty. Nothing of beauty is left when light is gone. Without light no radiance flashes from the diamond, no peaceful rays proceeds from the pearl; and thus all the beauty of the saints above comes from Jesus.

Light is also the emblem of knowledge. In heaven, our knowledge will be perfect, but the Lord Jesus Himself will be the fountain of it.

Light also means manifestation. In this world it does not yet appear what we shall be. A touch from Jesus will transform us into a manifestation of His glory.

Blessed is the Lamb who taketh away the sins of the world!
