Shared last night with my family, members of my church and community in watching a preview of the movie, "The Help." President Obama remarked during his first campaign, "America has to deal with the issue of race." This movie deals with race in an informative, entertaining and culturally relevant way. It reminds of us times gone by when the socially acceptable norm was for African Americans to serve so called, "White People." When society would dehumanize a race, this movie pulls back the covers and reveals the temperament, courage, and class of a race of people willing to sacrifice themselves for a future generation. It shows the alliances created by people of good will and people of strong will. When it is released to the general public, I recommend you do two things: read the book and see the movie.
